LEGO JAMES BOND

In the great tradition of Lego films that pay homage to popular titles and genres, the short below uses stop-motion animation to recreate the pre-title sequence of Casino Royale shot-for-shot. The format is especially effective during the bathroom fight, where Lego pieces get blasted and broken to the film's gritty audio track. Direct youtube link here. On a side note, I wonder if Spy Vibers have ever played any of the Lego video games? I've never been much of a game fan, but I really enjoyed Lego Batman. There is something special about its cocktail of humor, action, and suspense that makes it fun and accessible even to non-gamers. I think it's all that sneaking around on rooftops and cool gadgets... Which brings me to my hope that someday we'll see a Lego James Bond game released. Imagine players choosing different missions based on the films? Goldfinger and The Spy Who Loved Me would be the most logical titles to adapt for play. I can just see a little Lego Oddjob breaking up characters with his flying Lego bowler hat, fighting Jaws at the Pyramids, and car-chase battles with the Aston Martin DB5 and Lotus submarine. You hear that, Lego people? Lego Batman was just released for iPad. The film clips from the game have been edited into a movie due for release on DVD/Blu-ray and streaming this month.
