POIROT RETURNS

Fans of Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot mysteries will be interested to hear that a new Poirot novel is in the works. Inspired by the efforts of the Ian Fleming and PG Wodehouse estates to continue their fictional properties with contemporary authors, the Agatha Christie estate has arranged for the first Poirot novel to be penned since Christie's death in 1976. Best selling crime writer Sophie Hannah has been announced as the writer of the new book, which is slated for publication next year. More details at The Independent here. Spy Vibe's Mystery/Adventure archive on Pinterest here. The first edition of Poirot Investigates (below) sold last year at auction for over 40,000 pounds. Poirot has appeared in over thirty-three novels, fifty short stories, radio shows, TV series, and in a number of films, including Murder on the Orient Express (1974/Lumet) starring Albert Finney and Sean Connery.
