TRIGGER MORTIS: UNLOCKING BOND
An interactive pop-up experience inspired by Anthony Horowitz’s new James Bond novel
To mark the publication of one of the most anticipated books of the year, an interactive 1950s style pop-up experience is being placed within Waterstones Piccadilly for one week only. There will be a costumed actor, secret codes and clues to solve, a hidden door leading to an antechamber (no spoilers here!), and mysterious phone calls… This is a truly unique experience for the public – Bond fan or no – which is the first of its kind.
- Visitors will be transported back to the 1950s, Fleming’s heyday – the walls, shelves and tables will incorporate references to his books, to Bond, to Trigger Mortis, and to the time period; books about the Cold War, space travel and framed prints from the period, plus 50s TV footage
- Participants who choose the Trigger Mortis challenge and successfully solve a series of clues, will find themselves inside the pages of the novel, in an antechamber hidden within the pop-up space
- The pop-up will contain original Fleming material as well as objects once belonging to Fleming – including the book by Ornithologist James Bond, the namesake of our eponymous spy. Alluding to Trigger Mortis, there will be Hanafuda cards, Grand Prix posters, rockets, war memorabilia and much more
- Produced by the team behind Les Enfants Terribles’ smash-hit immersive show Alice’s Adventures Underground, and the creative director behind Secret Cinema’s Back to the Future, TRIGGER MORTIS: UNLOCKING BOND is guaranteed to intrigue and delight customers
