I love looking at graphics from Japan. When I lived in the northern part of the country in my twenties I often browsed the bookstores and magazine racks to check out cool designs. There is often a great use of minimal, negative space and dynamic placement of images. In an almost unconscious link to traditional ink painting, the text can sometimes run down from the corner like branches and leaves. Here is a small collection with SPY VIBE. It's great to see Twiggy, the Olympus Pen camera, Mod fashions, whimsical parakeets, and an ad that makes label-makers look cool! Enjoy!
