EUROSPY SOUNDTRACK

Spy soundtrack news concludes this week with the announcement that Beat Records will release the rare 1965 Angelo Lavagnino score Superseven Chiama Cairo on May 20th. From the press release via Screen Archives Entertainment: "Superseven chiama Cairo (Super Seven Calling Cairo) is a movie directed in 1965 by the great Umberto Lenzi. Starring Roger Browne, Fabienne Dali and Massimo Serato, it’s a film belonging to the so-called Eurospy genre, very much in fashion at the time speaking. Previously unreleased, Lavagnino’s score was recently discovered in the family estate’s archives, an exceptional revelation that finally allowed us to homage one of the fathers of Italian film music, a talented artist and teacher of other popular composers. We are thrown into a score with orchestrations typical in the composer’s canon, alternately melodic and tense in order to underscore the various situations in which Superseven (Roger Browne) finds himself. A real treat for film music lovers and fans of Mastro Lavagnino, Maestro Lenzi and Eurospy cinema!" Pre-order for $19.95 at SAE. Recent soundtrack news on Spy Vibe: Danger Diabolik, Bruno Nicolai.
