CONTEST WINNERS

The winners of Spy Vibe's vintage TV spy book contest are Michael from North Carolina, USA and Richard from Leeds, UK. Your books will be shipped out after the holidays! These Spy Vibe agents shared some thoughts about their favorite 1960s spies. Michael wrote about Secret Agent: "Even as a kid I was intrigued by the line "They've given you a number and taken 'way your name." My young self wrestled with the existential implications of that - a concept indicative of the more serious spy culture of the 60s." And speaking about The Avengers, Richard said, "Steed was all that was good about the Britain that has now disappeared. A debonair, charming English gent with a taste in fine wines and good living. His assistants were all fun, glamorous and full of energy, which reflected the so-called "Swingin' Sixties". When it was shown in colour, it was perfect for the time. So exciting and bright, and sometimes exotic. Mother was fun and full of wonder, as were his numerous bases where he'd have his chats with Steed. The Avengers made the 60s chic and I think the world would have been a poorer place without it too." Thanks to all of the Spy Vibers who entered the contest.
