PORTMEIRION PHOTOGRAPHY 1

Hello, Spy Vibers! I promised you I would share my photographs from the summer tour through many filming locations seen in The Avengers, The Prisoner, etc. As you may know, my days are suddenly taken up with teaching and helping my art students, but I did garb a moment tonight to at least start the editing process and get a few images ready to post. It was 50 years ago this week that cameras began to turn in Portmeirion, as Patrick McGoohan brought his series The Prisoner into full production on location in north Wales. I was fortunate to stay in an apartment in the Village for three nights and four days last July. The weather was exceptional and my balconies looked straight out onto views on the Dome and Number 6's Roundhouse. The powers that be did allow me to leave when my stay was up, but I must say, I left kicking and screaming. McGoohan may have used the Village as the allegorical cozy prison of conformity, but architect Clough Williams-Ellis' whimsical vision makes the place an idyllic and surreal paradise to me. I do wish I could live there and make art! I have many images to share, but here are four to start your tour. The Village through my eyes. This batch features four views of the Dome, home of Number 2 in the series, and the site of my friend Briony's art studio these past few years. Enjoy!
