James Bond author Ian Fleming was born on this day in 1908! His literary invention continues this month with the release of Forever and a Day, the new novel by Bond continuation author, Anthony Horowitz (Alex Rider series). Horowitz has brought unique elements to his 007 books so far by placing the stories within Fleming's original timeline and by including previously unpublished material by Ian Fleming. His first novel, Trigger Mortis, picked up at the end of Goldfinger and featured character Pussy Galore. Forever and a Day is a prequel to Casino Royale and chronicles Bond's genesis as a double-O agent. Penguin publishing has just released an excerpt from the novel, which Spy Vibers can read here.
