POP WEEKLY

Pop Weekly first appeared in the UK on September 1st, 1962. Each issue featured news and articles about popular artists and bands, as well as many photographs that did not appear elsewhere. The covers remain a wonderful time capsule of the era, sporting bold red, yellow and black designs around idols such as Elvis, Billy Fury, The Beatles, the Rolling Stones, and prominently, Cliff Richard. Just to put the magazine in cultural context, the first Beatles single Love Me Do made its debut one month later on October 5th- the same day the first James Bond film, Dr. No, was released. What a dynamic time. Enjoy! Related posts: Billy Fury 1963, Billy Fury Event, The ShadowsBeatles Pac-ManInterview: Fab 4 ManiaThe Beatles: Mission to IndiaPaul at 76, Sgt.
