VOYAGE RECORD

The Irwin Allen News Network has a wonderful assortment of rare memorabilia posted by members on their site, and given my background in Japan, I was really drawn to the illustrated records that came out in the 1960s. My last post highlighted some images of Lost in Space records and today I want to feature a few from another classic Irwin Allen series, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. As I've mentioned, these graphics included common style elements such as duotone, color spreads, and cut-away schematics. Super fun to see! Voyage was one of those shows I saw as a little kid, probably in after-school syndication, and I remember enjoying it overall. The characters weren't as developed as Lost in Space, but it was fun to follow that cool submarine through various adventures ala monsters, mad scientists, and occasional Cold War intrigue.
