Treasure alert: Now that the dust has cleared from another busy teaching year, I can finally catch up and mention a very special podcast that Spy Vibers MUST add to their listening libraries. ITC Entertained the World is hosted by ITC historian, designer, and media contributor, Jaz Wiseman. Spy Vibers might recognize Jaz from his many decades of work on numerous pop-culture magazines, DVD/Blu-ray projects for various international markets -including a treasure-trove of cast/crew interviews and commentaries (which are featured in the podcast!)- as well as his long-running magazine, The Morning After. In this new podcast, Jaz provides an incredibly in-depth look at many of our favorite programs, often with the aid of great special guests like writer/historian Rodney Marshall (son of writer Roger Marshall), The Prisoner/Unmutual specialist Rick Davy, and pop historian Al Samujh. The most recent episode, ep#4, is devoted to Jaz's fave series, The Persauders. The Persuaders ran between 1971-1972 and was not only a highly entertaining chapter between Roger Moore's Saint and 007 projects, but Jaz makes the case that it was also the last great action adventure from ITC. The backstory of how the series was sold and how Roger Moore and Tony Curtis were cast is fascinating, and the show's great chemistry and film locations make it a cool, jet-setting ride! I knew Jaz and his team would do a great job, and hearing additional material from Jaz's archives truly surpassed my expectation. Highly recommended- don't miss it!
