FRITZ LANG SPIES

New release: Spies. Kino Lorber has announced the release of a Region 1 Blu-ray edition of Fritz Lang's Spies coming this February! Made during the silent era, Spies is one of the director's best- and one of my favorite films. Lang's use of noir-style lighting, dynamic action, and suspense were a great influence on Alfred Hitchcock. This film also includes a number of classic conventions such as mechanized secret lairs, cliffhanger death traps, and a diabolical mastermind. Truly one of the great action/spy films! Special features on this release include a 2K restoration, special stereo piano score, and 68min documentary (Spies: A Small Film With Lots of Action), and original trailer. More info at Blu-ray and Amazon. Spy Vibers in the UK can look for an earlier Region 2 Masters of Cinema edition, Spione. Enjoy!
