For a cool three million pounds you can drive away with James Bond's Aston Martin DB5. Reported today in the Daily Mail, this 1965 car is one of four original DB5s made for Goldfinger and Thunderball. It is one of the only TWO made complete with Q-branch extras, like imitation machine guns, revolving number plates, bullet-proof screen, tire-slashers, smoke and oil release behind the tail lights, and concealed consoles, radar navigation, and phone in the interior. The car was not used on-screen, but like its twin, was toured around to promote the films. The other Aston disappeared in the 1990s, making this the only remaining DB5 loaded with gadgets. It is outfitted with a 4-litre engine pushing the car to a top speed of around 150mph. The car has been put on the market by Aston Martin specialist RS Williams in Surrey. According to the Daily Mail, the three million pound price tag is 10-times the cost of a standard DB5. Well, the James Bond version is 10-times the car! Dave Worrall of Cinema Retro once published a limited-edition book about the car in 1992. Here are just some of the many photos posted by the Daily Mail. You can view a lovely video on their site if it doesn't load below. I think every James Bond fan will dream big today!
