DEAL ALERT: MISSION IMPOSSIBLE
Deal Alert: Amazon is offering a lightning deal today on Mission Impossible: The Complete Series. The sale starts at 8:20pm (pacific). The box set, designed as a stick of dynamite in reference to the show's burning-fuse opening, includes all seven seasons of the Emmy-Award winning spy series, the two-season revival from the 1980s, and a special-features disc. Mission Impossible has always been one of my favorite shows. The style of MI storytelling was typically built around eye contact and silent tension between the agents, rather than heavy dialog and gunplay. What made this show so awesome was the effort of the team to get and out of enemy territory unnoticed, and derailing the enemy efforts in such a way that the baddies were left blaming each other. With the MI Team's use of disguises, stage craft, and technology, they were the masters of sabotage and manipulation. The collection usually sells for $126 and up, so this may be a great chance to add it to your library for a reasonable price. Your mission, should you choose to accept it. Happy hunting!
