One of the benefits of being away on missions is coming back to check the radar for new discoveries. On the heels of my post yesterday about the new Gerry Anderson Collection box sets, more good news comes from Shout Factory about the return of another out-of-print title. On May 26th Shout will release The Saint: The Complete Series on DVD. The 33-disc region 1 box set will include all original episodes spanning 1962-1969 starring Roger Moore, as well as audio commentary on select shows and a behind-the-scenes with Moore featurette. Amazon is currently running a sale on a number of Mystery Science Theater 3000 box sets. The film stars many actors from the James Bond series, as well as Sean Connery's own brother, Neil. Familiar faces include Bernard Lee (M), Lois Maxwell (Moneypenny), Daniella Bianchi (From Russia With Love), Adolfo Celi (Thunderball, Danger Diabolik), and Anthony Dawson (Dr. No). It also features a celebrated score by Ennio Morricone and Bruno Nicolai. Although the original film appears to be now available as streaming content on Amazon, the MST3K version still remains the only official DVD release.
