The Unmutual and Quoit Media continue their series of fantastic events with a special Cerebration of ITC this fall. Fans will gain rare entrance into Elstree Studios in Borehamwood, where many ITC shows were made. The event will include several special guests, including Annette Andre (The Prisoner, The Saint, The Baron, Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased), Return of the Saint), on-stage Q&A sessions, screenings, and more. A Celebration of ITC is scheduled for Saturday November 17th at 6:30PM. Profits from the event will benefit Ty Gobaith Children's Hospice in North Wales. Tickets available at Quoit Media. Not A Number: A Patrick McGoohan Retrospective will take place on Saturday, June 23rd, at Elstree Studios in Boremhamwood. Special guests will include actress Jane Merrow (Danger Man, The Prisoner/"Schizoid Man"), director John Hough (The Avengers, The Champions, Brass Target), actress Vera Day (Hell Drivers), and others. Event alert: Fifty Years of The Prisoner. If you missed the recent Prisoner 50th anniversary event at Portmeirion, Spy Vibers have another chance to celebrate Patrick McGoohan's TV masterpiece a bit closer to home- just north of London in the heart of 1960s TV spy country! The Unmutual and Quoit Media will be presenting a special celebration of The Prisoner on January 21st. The event will be hosted at Elstree Studios, Borehamwood (across from the original MGM lot), and fans will be treated to special guest appearances from original cast/crew (TBD), Q&A sessions, screenings, and other attractions. I spend time every summer around Elstree Studios, where the mostly unchanged landscape and architecture drops one right back into the world of The Avengers, The Saint, and other classic series. This is a great opportunity to not only see that world, but to also gain access inside Elstree to meet up with Prisoner veterans, experts, and fellow fans. Happy Saturday, Spy Vibers! It was another super busy week here at the Spy Vibe lair, keeping up with my art students and spending a bit too much time at the doctor's (all is well!). I got a chance to dive back into some of my photographs from the summer's tour of 1960s spy TV locations. It's an amazing experience driving through what is affectionately called Avengerland because so much of the landscape and architecture remains unchanged since those classic spy shows were filmed. Before the whole group convened for an official weekend of location-spotting, my pal Mike Richardson took a few of us around to a number of notable spots. One such place was North Mymms, with its tollgate road, church, and old vicarage. Episodes from various series used the locations, including The Avengers: The Hidden Tiger, Something Nasty in the Nursery, Mission Highly Improbable, Never Say Die, The Professionals: Lawson's Last Stand, and Department S: The Pied Piper of Hambledown.
