Exciting news from Ian Fleming Publications: Raymond Benson is Back! Yes, the 007 continuation author (and writer of the indispensable James Bond Bedside Companion) is bringing us a new novel centered around the character Felix Leiter! Like many of my fellow Bond fans, I've often been partial to stories set in the early Cold War, so I'm happy to hear this new story is set in the early 1950s. How cool! Congrats to Raymond. I look forward to the adventure! With the film franchise now in the hands of Amazon, folks are wondering if we'll be seeing the kind of spin-off efforts taken by the Star Wars camp at Disney. Could Raymond's new book perhaps help lead the way for screen adaptations? Time will tell. From the press release: "Ian Fleming Publications is pleased to announce a new novel coming soon from 007 continuation author Raymond Benson. The Hook and the Eye focuses on Felix Leiter, James Bond’s trusted American friend and ally. This full-length novel will be released digitally in ten installments, beginning on May 27th, recalling the serialisation of classic pulp fiction in the early twentieth century.
